Mission

In the past 15 years I have had two back surgeries and one knee surgery. I have always been active and found tennis, cycling, hiking and walking to be therapeutic physically and mentally. However, I have not always been good at taking care of my body. I have pushed past pain and discomfort until I literally could not walk. I was almost fired by my physical therapist because I would not give up my favorite activity, tennis, thus making his job impossible.
When I could physically no longer walk onto a tennis court or ride a mile on my bike, the negative emotions came raining down. During much of this time I was already a certified coach with the tools to help myself out of this negative mindset spin. Furthermore, I was able to create a plan of action and to give myself grace and time to fully recover.  I started to pay attention to how others struggled with the emotional side of recovery. I also noted how some people  took control of their recovery and surpassed even their doctor's expectations.  I became intrigued with why do some people seem to breeze through a physical recovery and others stall out and struggle. Through interviews with the injured and physical therapists as well as the study of positive psychology and positive intelligence, it became clear that a positive mindset is crucial. I work with clients to  discover how they are sabotaging their recovery and then how to build  positive mindset muscles to expedite  their recovery with less stress and a better result.
